Oh, and I also got my CAT sandals repaired finally! I love 'em so much but the stitching keeps neatly coming out of the plastic clips that attach the straps to the sole. Easy repair job, but two have broken already. While I was waiting for the cobbler fix 'em I went for some cheap lunch at the McDonald's in the Wal-Mart in the mall to pass the 15 minutes it'd take him.

It was the saddest place I've been in a while.

Girls younger than me with babies and older women just sitting there because they have nothing else to do. There was this other woman who looked plunked straight out of Dynasty or Days of our Lives who I had to triple-dodge on my way in. She had such a frightened and guilty look in her eyes as such clutched her purse. I'm willing to bet she stole something and thought I was undercover security. Another lady much has snuck 10 coffee creamers into her bag. The woman who served me must have been well into her 50's and taking all this abuse from these grizzly and disgruntled Wal-Mart patrons. She had a very worn face, but piercing grey eyes with a strong sign of sincerity in them. I gave her my most sincere "Thank you very much, have a nice day." and those eyes lit up and a smile stretched across her face. Not a put on "This is how my manager told me to smile" sorta face but only the kind that you can produce when somebody notices you and reaches out.

Later when I got parking outside of the HPO office a nice gentleman parked next to us leaving offered his parking pass, it was good for another 30 minutes.

What goes around, comes around.
