Kids say the darnedest things!
Dec. 1st, 2001 01:13 pmHelping Mrs. Braun teach was actually enjoyable this morning. I really like kids, I always have. Not because they're "cute" and "innocent". Some of 'em are the spawn of the dark lord himself, but they're all developing little human beings and it's endearing to see them learn. Like today I was sittin' way in the back of the 3rd violins to help support their playing. They're just little kids most of them in the 4th or 5th grade. Of course I'm seated next to the gimpest little boy in the bunch, the contrast must of been hilarious to see. His name was Alex and throughout the morning we had the funniest dialog. At least, from my perspective.
"Heya, I'm Brodie." I said.
"I know, everybody knows you!!" says Alex. It's true, I'm sorta notorious in that group. I've been called "The bear of the orchestra" by Mrs. Braun herself. She has no idea.
"So, nice watch!" which was my subtle way of saying stop looking at it and pay attention. And it was a neat watch!
"Thanks, it came free with my asthma pills."
At this point I didn't know to laugh or to hug the kid. He was just so cute! I mean, sure he had obvious ADD leanings and I just about got his bow in my eye about twice. No matter how annoying some of those kids are, you really can't blame 'em. Infact, it's all the more endearing.
