The Friends List
Jul. 4th, 2001 03:32 pmSo I'd like to clear-up how my friends list works. Ya see, I'd consider most people on my friends list "friends" although the range is really diverse. From a guy I used to share baths with (my brother), people I don't know but like to read their journal, acquaintance's, real world buddies to good "internet friends" who I'd love to meet in real life.
Now the problem is that deciding who reads what is a hard decision to make. By having tons and tons of groups of people I'd feel as if I were spinning a web of deceit, pun intended. My approach to LJ is to have two levels of security. The friends list and the rest of the world, which is a little rough because that means there's a lot of people who know me very poorly that are being thrown right into my deepest, darkest secretes. And I'm sorry if I've offended anyone but hopefully you can all see the vice here. I want to be honest because, in honesty, the primary goal for me on LJ is to meet people.
And I think I'm doing pretty well. You guys all rock. It's easy to take community for granted.
