So on my way to Hamilton Place (venue) for sectional (strings) rehearsal every fscking grandmother and her buggy must of got on the bus. I arrived 3 minutes early, by the skin of my teeth really considering I had to find my place and setup. The viola section was very receptive in greeting me. I calmed down a bit after that. The tempo Maestro took was, as I expected, over my head at times. I may be able to get important things up to speed.. dunno, between school and this I'm very hard pressed for time.
There's one guy in the orchestra who's dashingly handsome, third desk Violin I, I believe. So, at break I'm sitting and fingering my part (yes, I see the double entendre there too) and who else but Mr woofy violin I comes up and introduces himself. I'd be stammering like a chimp on acid if anybody talked to me, let alone the beautiful guy. When we finished rehearsing Elgar I went to leave. But Maestro Reason took the opportunity to introduce me to the section. I just grinned like an idiot and made a mock bow.. then exited stage right as fast as I could without looking too scared. It is nice to get that sorta recognition though.
I must say, I could get used to playing in a orchestra though. I'm already pretty comfortable with it, all I need is to improve my playing and get a better instrument. Performance in post-secondary seems more viable now.
