My chamber orchestra plays in The Toronoto Kiwanas Music Festival tonight. Playing Grieg's Nordiche Weissan which are fairly heavy on viola soli.

First place, 92% in the open string orchestra category. Second highest mark that adjudicator has given in the whole festival.

My last Kiwanas Music Festival with that group, it's about time I moved on. Good to end it on a high note. He had lots of good things to say about the violas in particular and looked at me a lot for answers and whatnot during the master class/lesson period, all the acknowledgement I need. I know how much weight I pull in that ensemble this year.

I feel good.

Next phase: my solo for Hamilton Kiwanas. We'll see how that goes, I feel up to rockin' it out this year.

My right side hurts a lot today. Probably nothing.

So just incase I'm actually dying I'll have evidence in my journal that I wasn't oblvious to the problem.

I miss the excitement of summer. Out on a patio on a busy street with lots of friends, the inconsequencial din of summer time music on a stereo in the peripheral. Nothing to do but wax poetic and enjoy the weather.

The winter is geting to me already, and it's been short this year. Only a few more weeks, if spring is on time.. but the weather is less than normal lately.
