I will continue to boycott companies that continue to vhemently lobby for legislation as to the way I deal with my property. I don't believe in copyright law in it's modern
WIPO/DMCA incarnation.
When you don't like the rules you have to oppose them. The sort "protection" measures in place for "intellectual property", which seems like a rhetorically proficient term for the "I thought of it first" schoolyard dispute, serve a very specific group of people. They actively hinder the democratization of culture for a select group of people's economic protection. The invisible American oligarchy of the super powerful. They have rights beyond the citizen and they encourage the masses not to care through the sedative product that is their very source of power.
It's so obviously not right, and there's little you can do from with-in the system other than be aware and not to comply. I will continue to share mix CDs and MP3s. I will record and distribute anything that meets my senses as I see it as
expression of my human experience. Yeah, people need to get paid and they will for enhancing my experience in ways that I see fit. I am the consumer, I drive the system. Without me you're nothing.
This is all because I refuse to see technology undemocratized.
