Weekend review
Aug. 11th, 2002 12:20 pmOk, so it's been another unexpected weekend-o-fun. Friday I went with my brother Aaron (
tootired) to his pad in Waterloo to help him pack up. It's end of term at the University of Waterloo meaning there was lots of parties. So I went with him and his house mates for sushi then to a systems engineering house party and proceeded to get drunk like it was our job.
It was pretty neat although definitely not my thing. The people at UWaterloo don't seem to reach below 6/10 on the nerd scale, which is fine 'cause I'm a big geek too. Well, that's not even it really. It's just hard to relate to the "gonna get a degree, a good job, husband/wife then some kids, a place in the suburbs and a Dodge Caravan" crowd.
Often I wish life were that simple, I really do. Not that I can't live that life if I choose so. So in the end I've glad I have awareness and choice over the matter.
Got home later saturday, still massively hung over. Slept mostly and now a throat infection I'd been fighting for a few weeks has been given the break it needed to totally rule the back of my mouth.
So, major points I have to hit this week. I post mostly for my own benefit via public humiliation if I don't get them accomplished during the week:

- Make a dental appointment preferably before school starts
- See the Dr about my throat, it's pretty nasty. If anything she'll prescribe me some codeine to knock out on so I can sleep.
- Talk to school about classes and options. Is nightschool an appropriate course of action?
- Get over this freakin' throat infection! That means sleeping regularly. Hmmm.
