Burn Dolby AC-3 on a CD-R

Ok, this is reallly cool. You can burn 5.1 channel audio onto a normal CD-R which'll play in most DVD players. Also Sonicfoundry's Acid Pro 4.0 has support for mixing in 5.1 surround sound. Meaning I could cut high-quality tracks really cheap. I like this.

A crappy day today.

Woke up to Mom telling me that Aaron's car had been broken into. Although unwritten in my LJ just Tuesday night the spoiler off the back of his Paseo had been ripped off. Now this morning his window was smashed and his new stereo punked as well as his ownership. I feel for the guy, he's just trying to finish his degree and now he's got another $300 deductable to pay if he wants his stuff back.

What's worst is the feeling of violation. My neighbourhood unfortunately has a lot of younger people and lower income housing nearby. Not to make generalizations but there are gangs and posses. I don't feel really good about the area, to say the least. I really just feel like smashing some heads vigilante style.. not that it'd do any good.

Worst yet I got the ol' "fuck you" from school today. It boils down to this: I'm a mature student and therefore "Enrollment Prioriety E" at a school that can barely fulfill the requirements for prioriety D. Which is to find classes for all previously enrolled students.

Needless to say I'm disappointed. I'll be talking to the adult education centre in Stoney Creek tomorrow about possibilities. It looks like if I want to persue UofT I'll be attended a bridging year which upon completion with a grade of 73% or better will allow me admission to Arts & Sciences at UofT St. George. I'm pretty set on going to school in Toronto. I mean I just care to be a career student for a while frankly. It's the city I know best and frankly I'm really bored of being the only queer I know who I can stand to be around for more than 5 minutes in Hamilton. Seriously, the only guys who stick around here are tragic closet cases with no intentiosn of ever openly embracing that aspect of their lives.

Can't relate.

So the plan of action for this year is to make lots of money. Meaning I can possibly start doing some industrial shift work, which luckily this city does offer in spades for any half-way healthy strong male.

I could lay blame to our Tory provincial government for severely cutting the budgets to all the social services. But right now I just want to get on with things because I'm sick and tired of living in a second-rate blue collar town with my Mom.
