She came home with flowers

Mom's department got disbanded today. Her boss lost his job but she's being moved to a new position. It's pretty said, John (her boss) is a really smart guy who truly is passionate about Measurement, Evaluation and Quality. I've personally done some work for him, just database stuff but I gotta say he's one of the smarter men I've known. It really sucks that public health care is being so cut back. It's not like the work they do is unnecessary paper shuffling. They make sure the hospital isn't making long-term mistakes in treatment by analysing loads of data for trends and developing new processes to avoid problems. Now they won't be doing that at all.

Needless to say Mom's a bit shaken up but I think she'll be ok. Gonna spend the evening with Brendan in Westdale getting drunk for Halloween.
