Work, no work
Dec. 14th, 2002 02:03 amFeel asleep rather early friday morning to awaken at 12PM. Whoops, I missed classes altogether. I can handle it but it's looking more likely that my "extra semester to work during" will be severely cut. I can still work two summers before my first semester in *crosses fingers* university.
I keep trying to adopt better work habbits and "life skills" in general but I always end up awake at 2AM no matter how hard I try. It's probably the worst thing I do to myself.
Anyhow, come 2PM I was up and ready to get things done. I'm not sure if it's maybe season affectedness or what but I'm in slow motion lately. I'm definitely very socially under-stimulated because I have no peers that I see regularly. I'm a commuting monk who studies alone in a kiosk every day. It does sound like a total downer, and believe me it can be, but I have enough... spiritual... fortitude to pierce through the resistance.
Right, 2PM. Let's try again. Call up John McIntosh, arrange to make a house call and make his Latitude CP work all snazzy again. After much flubbing around with those lovely "System Restore" disks that were all the rage in 1999 the poor 2RPM hard disk finally reformats itself and copies a fresh image ofWin98SE . Then Office XP needs to overhaul ODBC before installing. Two billable hours, cha-ching. Although I'll feel terrible charing him that. His workplace didn't provide him with the Palm Desktop installation disks for his m500 so I took his beast home and used mine rather than running back and forth with CDs. Now I have to figure out what to charge the man, any suggestions? Approximately 3hrs of work.
