What I like most about my city is that my friends an I can hang out in the dance studio above gore park, drink Jell-o shooters and jam on the PA. Below spectators waiting by the fountain adorned transit hub have to deal with our noise. The police don't care because unpopular downtown Hamilton doesn't have too many rich people in it yet. We actually re-united some people with acquaintances from high school this way.

I have nearly perfected my finger-tap beat box microphone technique. You can get some hot Metal (\M/) double-kick sounds that way.

Former Mayoral Candidate and Current Alternative Monthly Newspaper Editor Matthew Jelly (FMCCAMNEMW?) also has a smoke machine which, for the future reference of all, makes any party 110% more fun. And that's how I spent my Saturday night.

Sunday night was special. It was my company Christmas Party.

My employer, despite how hard and trying the work may be at times, is a place I am glad to work. After my previous shitty job at McDo's UK working for a locally founded franchise seems a few steps down The Scale of Impersonal Corporate Soul Death.

The franchisees threw us probably one of the more lavish parties that one can throw in the city I live. In the Grand Ballroom of Liuna station it started with an anti-pasto bar then an wild mushroom asiago risotto. The risotto was garnished with some sort of onion type thingy that looked like a tiny pale yellow-green Calla Lilly and tasted sweet and peppery. If anybody has a clue what that is I'd like to know. There was salad and the mains was a chicken Florentine. Chocolate crêpes with a sort of raspberry and blueberry confit. Free flowing wine and other drinks in the old train station. A giant Christmas tree in the lobby. The big boss gave out tons of cash in a draw and it was all free. It felt really good to be appreciated for working my ass off.

Although a raise would be nice too.

Beyond that it's been the regular grind of my single final high school credit and lots of grocery slinging, of course. Every day is a bit of a pain, convincing myself that what I'm doing is worthwhile. That I'm doing the leg work I need to get done to go elsewhere with my life.

To be completely honest I'm a bit burnt out and a lot lonely. Most of my time seems to be spent in iPod Land on the bus and walking in the cold. I don't do well with isolation.
