Changing Weather
Sep. 4th, 2006 03:20 amFor the first time in my life I am living in two places: Barton Haus and Mom's Haus. This will carry on throughout the week until I move the important things (bed, computer, coffee maker. No more no less) this coming Saturday.
Through some degree of causal coincidence Tropical Depression Ernesto arrived in Ontario on the first of the month of September. Nothing really marks the labour day weekend like strong winds, dark skies and blowing rain. An obvious, perfectly timed allegory for moving, arriving and the beginning of a new period. Being a rain storm it is however not without inspiring a primitive trepidation. And yet evocatively sinister in nature a rain storm is still a gateway to sunshine, rainbows and a rhythm about everyday life. A natural device for human memory.
I put on face lately but I'm still a little sad and lonely. To a degree grieving a loss of what was familiar and excited about the future. My brother is in Calgary, I'm moving out, projects are underway and I've met a whole host of new and exciting people in my new neighbourhood. We'll see how this goes.
