Le Weekend

Lots of fun times this weekend. Starting with the Absorb event at the Pepperjack where I arrived fashionably late (working late is fashionable) to see the multi-talented Bob Wiseman. He has a really sad song about puppets that get cancer and die that really bummed me out. I couldn't find that video so here is a song about love with broken synthesizers:

Also if you are into people who win Grammy's check it out! Bob Wiseman and Feist are total BFFs!!

Headlining between the Make Your Own Sock Monkey Table, 75¢ cupcakes, art and things was The Acorn whom slayed me with their live rendition of their song Crooked Legs.

What's fun about The Acorn is that the singer wrote the record about his mother's escape from Honduras to Canada. There's a pretty neat story about her life, the record and the band at Exclaim.

Saturday night was the Cotton Centre Xmas Get Together where I dressed like a Dutch C3PO, had a pillow fight with Gina and everyone pole danced. It dumped about a foot of snow on the city that night and we finally got a cab home at 3AM. Luckily the next day it was so snowy that I called guilt-free into work and stayed at home sleeping.
