One service I'd really love is a universal way of being notified when artists that you like are playing live in your city, town or other significant urban unit. You could slam up a reasonable business model around the concept.

I'm sure the system is in place for promoters and news media already. I think there's money in democratizing it.

File under "L" for "In Another Lifetime".

Oh, and of course if there is a way for an average joe like me to get in on said info I'd love to know.

How about just opening and reading your local newspaper/alterna-rag? They pay calendar editors big bucks to be on the ball with those kind of things...
