I often truly under-estimate my own potential. I'm noticing this while I help Mom make up a document for her review at work. There's some real simpletons in that hospital making $40-80 000CDN to sit in front of MS Word and make documents that are totally useless.

We have those in Americaland too. They're fat, old white men who work for companies like AT&T and IBM and are kept in positions of power and profit purely on the amount of time they've been there and the number of shares they own in the company without having any connection or understanding of the modern world. They drive big SUV's and vacation in Aspen.

I once had a supervisor where I used to work who was making almost $90,000 a year between her full-time position with the organization and her part-time position with another organization. I was the one who wrote, not edited, wrote, 80% of her reports and correspondence and I was making 10.75/hour.

This does not surprise me.

People are inherently stupid and lazy. Few among the general populus have the balls or the wherewithall to strive for anything.
