Infrequent Vivid Dream
Sep. 17th, 2003 12:48 pmHad a dream last night that I was at a festival style concert in the UK with Chris Clark headlining. The further down the bill I went the more rockbands there were. I felt that this inverted hierarchy of solo electronic musicians felt righteous however consciously I know that ranking artists hierarchially in one dimension is overly simplified. The performance by Clark in my dream was unusual. Everyone took communion wafers and performed the sing of the cross on their chests before he began playing. Also at the very beginning of the dream the field before the stage was empty and workers of Asian descent were digging embankments alongside the edges of the field to allow rain water to flow from the stage elevated a fair bit above the field.
The elevation bit is a tad confusing as that's inverse of a good amphitheatre design for maimum crowd visibility although consciously I feel that isn't of much consequence. That thought aside the interpretation applied to my life's happenings are pretty obvious. I'm predicting what culture is like across the ocean and I think the indication that the concert was NOT rained out due to the digging of the embankments beforehand implies that I'm preparing myself adequately.
Oh, and that I'm listening to the new Chris Clark record a whole lot lately.
