Verdict: The Livejournal style system as it stands right now fucking SUCKS. I don't know anything about SS2 but hopefully they'll get smart and use XML or XSLT so people can actually use existing tools to make their LJ templates. Chances are that won't happen though.

lol. I remember at a party once somebody said "I wish OS's were programmed in HTML" hehe, that was funny, specially since HTML isn't a 'language'

Well, it is a language. It's a a markup language that describes documents. Just not a language that permits you to execute arbitrary mathematical instructions.

Ther is an OS with a html interface exists. It's called microsoft windows 9x with Internet Explorer 4 or higher. Although html is hardly a high performance markup language ment for tasks such as professional publishing. That's why Mac OS X whips tail, because it uses PDF in it's Quartz GUI engine.

But MS is about monopolizing standards before actually creating a better product, so they don't really care.
