Boxing Day Haul
Dec. 27th, 2003 01:21 am
So I indulged my inner queer and went shopping for clothes this boxing day. I figured now that I have a bit of money it'd be worth not being all util-ghetto-chic. My ironic "Atlanta" shirt would be a good indicator. I think I got it in 1997 from my Mom's friend after she'd visited some CDC sponsered Infection Control shindig. It was awfully kind, plus I loved the ironic statement of wearing a shirt from somewhere I'd never been. Call it my post-modern statement... or don't, that's cool too. But it's looking mighty poor coming ever intimately closer with 2004.
I know that as good Bears we're supposed to revel in our lack of fashion sense. However I was raised being told that dressing well is important. As clothes do not make a man great but they can definitely indcate one. And best of all check out the bargains! I will be going back tomorrow when I have more time.
Screw this plaid and workboot schtick, I want frilly tuxedo shirts and a home robot named S. A. M.
Today was also a holiday so I got Time + 1/2 for my troubles working for the clown. Not too bad. Ended the evening with dinner at my Aunt and Uncle's for a lovely transfomed xmas bird into a more than adequate Thai Curry. We talekd about my Dad and suprising my extended family have the same concerns and fears about him and how he's fairing with this part of his life. Interesting development, I feel as if I've got a fair bit closer to my Aunt and Uncle today.
Returned home and had a good chat with the fantastic Dr. Seumas Hyslop himself where I blathered his ear off and prevented him from getting any words in edgewise.
And suddenly I'm in pretty good spirits.Good times, good times.
