Made dinner for my family, Martin and Lindsey tonight. Just a simple BBQ using lots of red veggies (radicchio, red onions, boston red lettuce). Tried my hand at the fiercing some drinks too. Opal Basil Limeaid a la fabulous Edward Levesque's Kitchen with my own opal basil. Seems to be a well liked drink once people warm up to the idea of basil and lime. Presentation is so important too. I love sticking pint glasses in the freezer and getting them nice and frosty if only for a few seconds once out on the patio. Whipped together a simple pear and apple crisp for dessert with espresso. I forwent ice cream as I'd forgot to buy some and it's a holiday so most everything is closed. Double plus good given the portions I was serving were enough plus a bit.

All I have left in my fridge vegetable wise is bundles of wilted escarole, kale and spinach which will perhaps make some sort of vegetable soup stock? At best? Most likely to become expensive compost.
