It was Huw's birthday this weekend. Here we are having Greek food at Myth on the Danforth. I'm presently not looking at the camera as I am deciding whether or not to have the table d'hôte.

It was a lovely close to August and this passing summer. Not a cloud in the sky to hide the Snow Birds from the Canadian International Air Show. On the walk to the train station home we could hear them tearing through the massive air over Front Street, powerful sounds ricocheting between condos new and unfinished.

I'd name check my friends who made Saturday evening wonderful. But you know you're wonderful and you know I'm not into that tacky shit.

Scary Bubbles and Super Geeks

We went to Kensignton Market upon arrival in Toronto to meet Huw's friend Peter at Blue Banana. These girls asked us to take their picture in front of the bubble machine. They did a bad job at posing.

Ok, so, Blue Banana is sorta interesting. It's the CostCo of Hand Made Fair Trade Organic Third World Chic. Which is a hard place to be given that Super Hippies thumb their nose at the concept and tourists might have trouble understanding it to begin with and just end up buying the fudge. But the market is filled with patrons who seem to be spending money on the work of local artists and crafts people seven days a week. They also have $800 knock-offs of Philippe Stark's chandeliers for Baccarat.

Pop hippies are saving the world in a very special way.

My Niece

This is my niece Myriam Audrey Chree. She is due on 9/11/2008 in Lima Peru.

She's going to have a hell of a time explaining that she's Peruvian-Canadian but her last name is a Manx-Gaelic word meaning "heart, blood or soulful" and that the "H" is silent like "Christmas".

Coincidentally

Coincidentally my brother's girlfriend Vanessa went into labour last night about 1AM Calgary time. That's 3AM my time, 20 minutes after I made my post here.
