Scary Bubbles and Super Geeks
Sep. 2nd, 2008 02:09 am We went to Kensignton Market upon arrival in Toronto to meet Huw's friend Peter at Blue Banana. These girls asked us to take their picture in front of the bubble machine. They did a bad job at posing.
Ok, so, Blue Banana is sorta interesting. It's the CostCo of Hand Made Fair Trade Organic Third World Chic. Which is a hard place to be given that Super Hippies thumb their nose at the concept and tourists might have trouble understanding it to begin with and just end up buying the fudge. But the market is filled with patrons who seem to be spending money on the work of local artists and crafts people seven days a week. They also have $800 knock-offs of Philippe Stark's chandeliers for Baccarat.
Pop hippies are saving the world in a very special way.
