I had a most excellent chat with [livejournal.com profile] sonoranbear tonight! We were talking on AIM voice chat.. it was ok, ya know just conversing when I decided to hook my recording balance to the main mixer balance and get some background music going. After that it turned into one-on-one nfotxn radio. It was tons of fun and I'm sure once I get my cable modem installed I'll be broadcasting a shoutcast this holiday season for all to enjoy if they'd like.

Blastin' out live and direct to poison the moronic sonic temples that babel on and on..

Brodie, you rock my world. Pure and simple. Most wonderful expansion of musical knowledge and friendship.

Plus abusing AOL/Time-Warner's bandwidth made me feel all tingly inside.

*OFF THE FLOOR HUGS*

Hm. PWEI, right? Not a bad choice. They're not overly exagerrating when they talk of that ultimate all-time high. Is that album still in print, even?

(Tangent: Want to know something weird? Mark Bingham's favorite track off that album was Psychosexual; we'd usually have that album along on road trips circa 1992.)

But what, Brodie, did Aphex have to do with Vic Acid? Isn't that just Squarepusher? My copy don't say nothing bout no Richard James...

Ever play the PWEI video game? I can't remember what it was called (it had "Kill the Baddies" or somesuch in the title), and was never too good at it, but I do remember the first level end-boss was a giant hamburger.

More PWEI trivia: in high school and college, my friend Stef was adept at cheering me up whenever I was down. "Jason, you need to get poppycocked," she'd say, and throw on "Orgone Accumulator." Then we'd get up and dance like morons until I felt better.

Let me guess - you met Stef whilst on beaver patrol? (ducks)

For whatever reason, I never could get into anything before or after Cure For Sanity. Especially Dos Dedos, which I tried to force myself to listening to on a road trip to LA, but I just couldn't deal with it. Go figure.

I suspect Flood had a lot to do with the greatness of Cure For Sanity, but that's just one bruin's opinion.

Yep, the Poppies themselves! You can indeed get new copies of 'Cure for Sanity' but they're getting harder to find.

Those boys were so underappreciated. I put "Cure.." and the Beastie Boys "Paul's Boutique" up as the pinnacle of the sample/funk/hiphop style of the early 90s transatlantic experience.

And HEY! Welcome back globetrotter(s)! You guys still thinking of coming through AZ this holiday season before you jet off to Australia?

HUGS!

Give me Big-Mac and Fries to go..

I think the ID3 info on that mp3 is messed up. I'll have to check the AFX FAQ to see if Richard D. actually worked on that track.

Answer: No.
