So 44oz of Fosters, 12oz of Steak and a baked potato later I'm really stuffed and really tired. Went out to The Outback Steakhouse: Canada's Australian-styled Eastery™, not to be confused with East Side Mario's: Canada's Italian-American Styled Eatery™, with my Grandad. He arrived about 6PMET here, it's nice to see him. He's so much sharper than my Dad, which is really kinda funny. Reminds me lots of my brother.

Man, I'm tired. And darn horny. I mean, I don't like to write in my journal and say "Oh d00dz I saw the hott3st b34r at the k-leetmart!" but honestly the man sitting in the booth behind us. Sweet mother mary, he can bend me over and use me as an impliment explicitly designed for his pleasure and his pleasure alone any day. Big, beefy, full beard and really bright blue eyes. He was with a woman talking trash about some people I assume they both know. The nature of the conversation implied no relation between them in a very strong way. Ah, who am I kidding? There'd never be a man that gorgeous here that nobody else knows about. But a cub can dream, can't he? Yes, yes he can. Sweet lucid erotic dreams.

Is that what Outback is supposed to be? I just thought it was going to be some American style steakhouse. Maybe we should take Seumas there for a laugh. ;o)

BBQ Prawns anyone? *snicker* ;o)

They actually call it "shrimp on the barbie", how lame is that? I'm sure Seumas would be thrilled with the sheep sheerers and boomerangs on the walls. It'd be like a Canadian restaurant with hockey nostalgia everywhere.

Oh, that's Tim Hortons. Well then.

Don't worry! The first Outback Steakhouse opened in Australia just this last October. Now even Australians can enjoy subtle dishes such as The Shrimp on the Barbie ™!

(For what it's worth, I find it's no better or worse than your average chain themed restaurant. Just be careful to make sure they cook your steak - their definition of "medium rare" appears to be "still thawing in the middle". However, when the waiter noticed I hadn't eaten more than two bites of it, he silently dropped it from the bill. Go figure! He must have been happy to get a tip equal to the (the bill + 15% + the cost of the missing entrée) though. :)

Hey, did you know that no one in Australia actually drinks Fosters? It gets marketed overseas as being a quintessential Australian beer, but I haven't seen anyone drink fosters since the '80s.

But I do remember when the two big beers in Queensland were Fosters and XXXX (Fourex). Now everyone I know drinks VB, which used to be a Southerners drink.

Ah, nostalgia.

Oh wait, I hate beer.

This entire thread has made me glad for something I'm not usually glad for. I'm so glad I live in such a shitty place that we have restaurants that are unaffiliated so that while the decor may be bad, it's not some lame stereotype. Oh who am I kidding, I live in the only village on the planet with two applebees.

I've been to East Side Mario's. I wasn't too incredibly impressed. The next day I went to Nickel's. Suddenly East Side Mario's was a lot more impressive.
