If you haven't been in school for a few years, do you think it's a good idea to accelerate to U of T right away? I suppose the answer depends on your readiness for school after your long absence, and the difficulty of the U of T "mature student" program.
Are there benifits to taking the long route? The shorter method seems apealing, but will it put any restrictions on your academic carrer in the long run? Is there any benifit to the GED?
You know what you need. Make a decision and don't look back.
I know this is a good idea but not finishing High School is a bad idea. If anything changes in your life you will always have to fall back on high school. As a college teacher I would strongly say PLEASE FINISH HIGH SCHOOL first. You have lots of time in your life don't rush it.
Okay, I know that school is different up in the Great White North, but if the High School/GED situation is anything there like it is here, then I'd take the GED. High School here was just some bizarre social experiment gone wrong. It only induces scars that last for life. Personal Observation has been that about 2 out of 10 people liked high school. Those are the same people who are constantly happy, and therefore scare the hell out of me. All things being equal, if I had it to do over again, I would have dropped out and taken the GED, and moved on with my life, minus the mental scars.
