I just don't see that v.92/v.44 going to go much of anywhere? Sure there will be acceptamce of it eventually, but it's just not a big thing... why not get DSL/Cable instead?

Believe it or not, there are still a lot of places where you can't get DSL or cable connections. Even in major metropolitan areas.

Tell me about it -- in the CENTER of population in the Metro Detroit area, I'm 16,500 feet from a CO. How does that happen?

I didn't know that. I mean, I figure there would be a need for it in less populated areas, but I'd always just assumed that major metropolitan areas, where most of the people are, would have cable/DSL access. Wow...
