Mar. 21st, 2002 03:33 pmFavorite CRTC certified rock band definitely goes to pre-Edwin & The Pressure era I Mother Earth. I would suggest to anyone who would like a sample of Canuck Rock&Roll to pickup Scenery and Fish.
New IME album soon, they're recording as I type. And of course Edwin & The Pressure have that cool blues/grunge "Superhoney" single out right now. Just in time for summer festivals no less.

Mind you I've never really gotten into IME that much. Some of the stuff on their first album's nice.
Hey speaking of Can-Rock artists you adore, Hawksly Workman is doing a realityTV show where he and three other artists have to write a song in eight hours. (Ooooo suspense). I did timecode burns of the raw footage last night.

Personally I like the new single, it's really dirty and bluesey. There's lotsa chromatic and 5th intervals that achieve that feeling. Think "Supernatural" par By Divine Right.

Date: 2002-03-21 09:49 pm (UTC)Interesting that he went from just plain Edwin to Edwin and the Pressure. The whole point of him leaving IME was to highlight him as a soloist (and produce gobs of cash). Something tells me he lacks the charisma necessary to be a soloist. He should have stayed with I Mother Earth and learned to live with Jag telling him what to do. It probably would have been more profitable.
