The more I listen to this Kylie record the more I'm able to really spot the influences.
  • Love At First Sight - Hello, DAFT PUNK! Come on down, you're our next contestant. Actually, it general sounds like filter house. Thing is, it's almost a bit better than most Daft Punk tracks 'cause her vocals are nicer.
  • More More More - Humpy house, hear that PCF filter on the snare/clap? It's that "schwick!" sound. Yum, recipe for some whippin' 'round booty shakin'.
  • Fever - Basement Jaxx holy shit. Complete with the cute little baroque-esque piano fills and telephone ring tones.
  • Dancefloor - Wow Jay K, your voice has mysteriously lowered. Total Jamiroquai track right here.
I'm really liking this record, it's got a huge scope of modern house/pop/funk sounds.

So weird!

Really funny you mention it, because I'm listening to it right now! Cool!

I agree with you when you mentioned Daft Punk while listening to Love at first sight. I thought the same thing.

And bless you...

Ya know, there's still he possibility that Daft Punk produced that song uncredited. If it becomes a single I'll be more inclined to believe it myself.

There's so much of Daft Punk's style that really works for anyone who was young in the 80s. Elements of disco and motown with a modern house/electronic twist. Damn I love it.

according to sirendisc.com. LAFS will be the next import single from the UK. There's also talk that her performance of "...Out of my Head" with the elements of New Order's Blue Monday at the Brits will be on that as well. Just a rumour at this time but nonetheless, it's something to look forward to.

I couldn't agree more.

Kylie's voice isn't the strongest but at least she does fantastic with what she's got. I'm so tired of these little throw-away pop tarts with the cutsy voices. It makes me want to yak.

Hey, I'm listening to that album at this very moment too!

Personally, I love "Burning Up". That chorus is so '70s disco fever.

Wow, I just re-listened to "Dancefloor", and you're utterly right.

So, tell me what "Love Affair" sounds like so I can go buy me some.

Somewhere between Madonna and The Cardigans later stuff. Take a listen to Gran Turismo, very much in the same vein.

I listen to it all</> the time, sans track #5...which sticks out like a sore thumb. I just wonder if it's going to be a huge smash or what. Will people actually get it? All this crap we've been subjected to in the past few years...I hope people pay attention!
