Something to laugh at this monday morning

Leaving Montreal for Quebec, I decide to make a stop at one of those rest areas on the side of the road. As I go in the washroom the first stall is taken so I go in the second stall. As I sit down I hear a voice from the next stall..

"Hi there, how is it going?"

I'm not the type to strike up conversations with strangers in washrooms on the side of the road.

I didn't know what to do so finally I say: "Not bad..."

The voice says: "So, what are you doing?"

Talk about your dumb questions. I am starting to find this a bit weird, but I say:

"Well, I'm just going to the bathroom, then I'm going back east..."

Then I hear the person say all flustered:

"Look I'll call you back, every time I ask you a question - this idiot in the next stall answers me!"

Hehe, my Mom sent it to me in an email this morning. Thank god it didn't happen to me, I'd be all "Who the fuck talks to people in a washroom stall?"

This really made me laugh. This kind of thing happens to me all the time, not in restrooms, but in general. It's one of the reasons I detest cell phones. I'll be somewhere and I'll hear someone near be say "Hey", or "What's up" and I'll just answer them out of reflex and have this complete one-sided conversation because they are on their phone. It's especially irritating when they have their nearly invisible earpiece thing in and I don't see it until they give me this "who the fuck are YOU" look. Then I feel like a complete idiot LOL
