I received a message from somebody regarding my mp3.com page. There's a small yahoo group now for progressive computer based musicians in the Hamilton area, this excites me greatly. Already plans of doing a show at the Staircase Theatre or Transit union, which I was planning on already. Now I have diverse acts to round out a very plush bill of artists.

I still sustain that the laptop computer is the most important advance in musical instruments presently. Not fucking turntables.

On the same topic flp 3.55 is available. The new features are pretty practical, although I think they need to change the name. I mean "fruityloops?", I'm sorry that's pretty gay.

Gene of nE/Corporation®.tk has new bootlegs out. I shoulda put that on the poll. With every new audio application sporting auto-quantization "unrequested" bootleg/remixes are becoming very democratized. Uh, that is to say everyone can do it now without significant effort.

Ewww! Just hearing the name is making me catch gay!
Get it off, get it off!

On a related note, I need to make sure my cootie vaccination is up to date.

Seriously, that rocks, dude. I really dig your stuff, and I'd love to hear you play live with a bunch of others. (:

Thanks Ian, it means an awful lot to have support from my friends if I want to continue making music and getting better.

Dude, I barley caught a lick of the tehni-speak, but it sounds intnese. Let me know when you do a show in Hamilton and if I'm back in Guelph I'll swing by and check it. Thanks for the post on my journal by the by. Loved the survey.

Oh, people will know when/if a show goes down! I'll probably be doing the promo.

You need a user pic!

Not trying to be a smartass here, as I am quite ignorant of terminology in these fields, but how does quantinization relate to quantization?

And is infomatics the same thing as informatics?

Yeah, I speeled them wrong. I also wrote "rivival" in the poll, which alas I cannot edit.

I really hate it when folks harp on simple spelling errors/typos, so please don't take my post the wrong way. I am so not busting your chops.

Google searches show that quantinization is quite popular, as is infomatics, so I thought maybe there was some subtle distinction between the terms.

/me goes back to winding down for bed.

congrats on the show, i hope it goes well, i still haven't gotten a chance to listen to some of your stuff, my computers been freaking out lately, but when i get it kicked back into place i'll check it out.

On a side note, i've always wanted to compose my own sequencer stuff, and i figured might as well ask you. Is there a way to do sequencer thingies (i'm being technical of course) with actually owning a sequencer (as much as i'd love to get one, i'm a little broke, and the free-er the better) such as on the computer?

good luck on the gig, hope you rock. :)

long live Elvis Schmiedekamp!
