Strepzilla attacks! Flee in terror!

Well, yup it's strep. She didn't even have to swab as I have the following symptoms:

• No running nose or excess muscus production
• Swollen glands
• Pustules on my tongue and tonsils
• Fever

Hooked up with some Penicillin (they still prescribe that stuff?) and an oral rince for only a mere $31.63CDN. Thanks be to the benevolent drug companies watching over us. Alas no condeine for my straight-edge ass.. I was really looking forward to picturing myself on a hill by a river with tangerine trees and marshmellow skies.

Shucks, darn and drat.

Your rather lucky. Last time I had strep throat, I had a 104+°F fever that kept me in bed for three days, unable to do anything but get up for water and trips to the bathroom. Only on the evening of the third night was I able to get up, walk three blocks to the clinic, and get diagnosed and a prescription for antibiotics. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.

I am deathly allergic to Penicillin and most of it's offshoots. I'll go into anaphylactic shock and die in 10 minutes without treatment.

Luckily I was in a hospital when we found out. I've always wondered what they'd use to cure any case of syphilis I might someday contract, though.

I get strep all the time. .. to the point that I ignore or don't consider the symptoms anymore ( which is a really bad thing ). I generally have to go off the fever and swollen glands.

Last time I had it.. the nurse and I had a laugh in that all day she had been testing people for it. Out of the Huuuuuuuuuuuuundreds of people she tested the only TWO that had it were the "happiest"... the rest of them just had the flippin cold/flu. Yeah.. I was happy.... once I gave in I slept for 2 days.

Strep is naaaaaaaaaaaaasty if you don't catch it in time ( if you all remember the post a while back about my coworkers friend dying of an infection ).

Dont forget your liquids.

Actually, they shouldn't ever really have to swab the throat, as it doesn't actually give useful information.
