Believe it or not, Japan isn't just lusty ganguro girls with strategically stretched lab coats and giant robots speeding through radiant neon landscapes. Nippongraphica's photographs, the majority in black & white, make the real japan very obvious. Even easy to relate to.

I thought they were pretty rad. Definitely a new aesthetic as applied to asian culture. Usually that grainy b&w happenstance imagine thing is applied to cruising down Route 66 and stopping in Americana Kitsch drenched diners and whatnot.

I enjoy it, it's something I'd buy prints of given I had that kinda money.

Fantastic photos. Though last time I was in Tokyo... I think I did see some giant robots sneaking around building and stuff. And I swear I saw an apartment building transform into a giant laser.

Well... they're very fast, those robots. Actually, I felt totally self-conscious about bringing out my camera there, so took zero photos when I was there :(.
