Sep. 18th, 2002 11:03 amUp late last night reading about digital mixers and ADAT Word I/O. With a nice PCI ADAT interface with an ASIO driver I could hookup a sexy Fostex VM200 Digital Mixer to VST or any ASIO supporting application. Then control those erotic motorized faders via MIDI. I could likely get to together a very capable little studio for fairly cheap.
That would be good. Anyhow, that probably only means much to me.
And now I'm very grumpy and tired. I'd have slept in if it weren't for the people replacing the kitchen counter and bathroom vanity today. They're very loud with all their manly tools and whatnot.
Oh, and they turned off the water before I was able to get a shower. As I said, very grumpy.

Re: More dirty talk
Date: 2002-09-18 10:10 pm (UTC)I'm doing it all virtual. I have N-dual-stereo at 24bit from audio software to the outboard sound gear and back again... vis a vie the PCI bus. On the outside, i'm working dual ADAT fiber for a total of 32 mono in and 32 mono out possible, although, i'm only workin' 16/16. The external ADAT is only 48KHz, unfortuantely.. but, nothing to shake a stick at.
Buy the time I route, in out, and all over the place, I'd have enough cables to wire us together... but thank god its all virtual ( www.creamware.com/pulsar.
As mentioned... been trying to convert to ASIO.. but i'm having some 'gliches' when I app switch. All the reason why I shouldn't do it on a computer with internal sound system... but ooooooooooooh, so pleasurable. My 5-Shark (RISC) DSP device just loves being a symbiotic leech on my machine.. and I love it too. I can upgrade to a total of 20 sharks. All of which...
... gives me a woodie.
