Back from a rather rigorous session of Math. Ugh, I despise drill excercises. I've answered all your questions posed in my last entry. I might answer more if they show up, but not guarantees.

Just backing up all the music on my computer as I really need to re-install. I goofed up my registry playing around with file associations and now every new folder opens the explorer in a new process no matter what I do. Not being too keen on reverse-engineering my goof up I'd much rather suck it up and re-install. Besides, I'm in dire need of de-crufting my system which is full of:
  • Porn I don't look at
  • Music I don't listen to
  • Programs I don't use
  • The usual smeared entrails of programs long since uninstalled.
Also I think I picked up a macro virus with MS LookOUT a while ago. I don't run any anti-virii software as I'm pretty savvy to security and practice the fine art of patch and pray in hopes that I'll never fall victim. Why the lazy attitude? Mostly because everything on my computer worth keeping is nearly always backed up and everything else is really just entertainment.

PS: ITC Bauhaus Light makes a fantastic system font with the groovy sub-pixel rendering in Windows XP (and most fairly modern consumer OS)

I need to get an LCD monitor so I can take full advantage of the ClearType... I'm just waiting for them to start making widescreen monitors not just a Mac thing.

Nice font, but not for 125 bucks.

LOL

Seriously, I'm surprised that you would think that you could stop viruses without an antivirus program just by being careful. Don't you ever open Word docs from others or any file you get off the internet?

First of all I have macro scripting completely disabled on office XP but when I switched my admin profile over it decided to turn those by default back on. Any executeable I get off the internet are almost always from reputable sources.

I just don't believe in running software to make sure other software doesn't go all genocidal. The price, for what you're getting, is exorbitant and every version is convienently not compatiable with the latest edition of windows. Companies like Netowrk Associates fuel the "security industry" through sensationalism and paranoia.

As a consumer in a free market I choose not to lend my business to those selling that product. I think it sucks.
