Ever have one of those days where everything about the world seems AOK? Today was my first day really out and about since being pretty violently ill last week. Today on the way home I did some retail therapy at the Dr. Disc and the Sonic Unyon Store. Picked-up:
  • National Geographic: Songs & Sounds of the Sea
    $6

    Great sampling material!
  • 2001: A Sapce Odyssey Soundtrack
    $10 (mint!)

One of my favourite movies EVER. If you haven' caught on already I'm a big fan of The Future That Never Happened. Ya know, where everyone has Chadwick modular seating and Herman-Miller interiors in their mega-highrise space condos? Yeah, that one.
  • Tears for Fears - Shout 12" Single
    $2 (mint!)

What can I say? Retro-80s is in, might as well buy 'em up? 'Sides, $2 for a mint record is dandy.
  • Lowfish - The Accidental Causer EP
    $12

I like Lowfish lots, Gregory de Rocher makes really good robot music. Sounds good while drinking vintage Perrier on your modular couch in your space condo.
  • Dabrye - Payback
    $10

I've had the mp3s of this for a while. Dabrye is one of the best artists I was exposed to in 2002, a very unique sound. And the Prefuse73 megamix on the record is super. But Scott Heron is god that way.

Also bought my GS!YBE ticket, which I wasn't aware was a seated event at the Tivoli Theatre which is an old 20's movie theatre downtown. Makes sense really. Super-cute Sonic Unyon guy Matt was having a heck of a time with the promoter whilst selling me my ticket. Apparently GS!YBE has entourage with the band who'll need free seats so I barely got my ticket. I'm going alone because of this, but it's not like I'm trying to make this a social event. I really am going for the music. GS!YBE is getting pretty big it seems, people all over the world on slsk are buzzing about them. Also he mentioned the band is attempting to keep themsevles low profile despite hype. Hence the smaller venue and seating. So they score brownie points.

Greg ([livejournal.com profile] plaidninja, ha, got your attention!) remember the cute bearded guy with the trucker's cap at the Buck 65 show? That's Matt and I'm going to marry him.

Also on the bus two girls were giggling about their Livejournals and talking about all the dumb free user restrictions. I resisted the urge to be utterly creepy and say "HEY I HAVE A LIVEJOURNAL TOO, CAN I ADD YOU TO MY FRIENDS LISTS?!" but it's something interesting to note.

*sharp, high pitched inhalation of air*
oh. my. god.
you actually got to talk to him!
*sigh*
He's dreamy!

There. I feel better now that I've gotten that out of my system.

No, really, he is dreamy. There needs to be more hot bear boys on the indie music circuit. The type with hairy chests, bushy beards and poetry books.

for once I wasn't being sarcastic.

No, i was, to a point, being serious. He IS dreamy. Silly as it may seem I'm totally jellous that you got to talk to him... Bitch!

Okay, now I'm kidding, but he was still totally dreamy.

*claws your eyes out*

I thought your post was going to be one of those "Priceless" type commercials.
