Well the Record & CD show honestly sucked out loud. It was all audiophile vinyl freaks looking for mint copies of rare King Crimson and Vangelis records. Or burnt out rock fans looking for bootleg DVDs and KISS memorabilia.

Not my scene.

The best I was able to score was a good condition copy of Speaking in Tongues for $15. Afterwards I went to Dr. Disc (Sonic Unyon was closed) and picked up the KOOP Summer Sun Carlito mixes single for $24 *ouch*. I dunno why I bought it to be honest, I feel totally gouged but I wanted to return from the BLISTERING COLD without empty hands. The slightly creepy but good natured guy from DJ Den was there and said "Hi". I get distinct loser-hipster vibes but I try to be friendly. Sadly I've grown to understand being friendly all the time can unfortunately only cause you trouble.

I'd kill to have a store like Rotate This in Hamilton.

Ps. This PEST song has samples from Short Circuit. "MALFUNCTION: NEED INPUT!"

If you haven't looked yet, check out The Beat Goes On (http://www.beatgoeson.com). The nearest ones are at the plaza at Upper James & Rymal, and one across the road from Westdale.

Tons of good stuff, cheap. And if they don't have it but one of their other stores does, they'll transfer it in for you. It's a hella good place.
