Because I'm feeling (as opposed to being) efficient I would like to make this entry in the form of a list to drive that point home:
  1. As luck would have it the supermarket had bags of grade-b oranges on sale for $1/bag. Realizing their practical and æsthetic value (of flawedness) I grabbed two bags. Three weeks of admiring the humanity of their flawed creation I still had two bags of oranges well on their way to starting the wonderful process of decomposition. Now as wonderful as the natural processes of biology are I still hadn't redeemed the practical value of said fruit; which to remind you and myself is to provide me with sustenance.K

Then like a bolt of lightning hitting my brain I remembered The Electric Juicer Craze of '96. A rather expensive, noisey and flawed Philips that stood handsomely on a shelf in the basement, albeit rather dustily as well. Ressurected from it's tomb of disuse it sprung to life and converted my surplus of oranges into approximately 1L of delicious, nutritious and freshly squeezed orange juice!

Tremble at the power of the micro-economy happening in my kitchen! Tremble!

  2. I watched Oprah today. That's right, O-p-r-a-h, as in Oprah Winfrey live from Harpo Studios. Her coverage on media efforts in the war actually encouraging. They are really utilizing some cool technology to report from the battlefield. We also forget that journalists as well as soldiers risk their lives to bring us the stories, they're pretty much right there on the battlefield with them in this war. Please don't assume I'm taking a pro-war stance, I'm not and still believe the causes of this war to be utterly contrieved and devious, but it's good to know that the media is at least trying to report responsibly.
  3. Today was my first day of the 75mg dose of Effexor™. I'm not sure the effects are going to be that immediate but I am feeling fantastic. May also have a lot to do with the super-awesome workout I got in yesterday. Although my arms and shoulders hate me today.
That's all, go home! If you're home... go read a book!

thanks for buying the imperfect oranges. nice to see less...citrus fruiting body fascism? besides, odd fruit is more interesting (i'll refrain from the obligatory "fruit" joke)

I feel your pain. I have 10lb. bags of potatoes sitting downstairs in a kitchen cabinet, because I got all hot and bothered when Kroger had them as "buy one, get one free".

As for Oprah, I tried in vain to get home last week to Tivo her show where she called Bush a cowboy...she's very influential, you know. I'm ready for the tidal wave of anti-Bush sentiment to start. I mean, if people's pocketbooks aren't going to get them against him, maybe they'll get a clue when the body bags start coming home.

It'll take 2 weeks to see any real effect in your body. A positive outlook is certainly a start. ONe thing to note is do not take ST. John's Wort.. It will adverse the effects. Also don't breastfeed :) A work out schedule is also advised.

We happen to be learning about that class of drugs in Pharmocology righ tnow. Best of luck.
