Sunday was good fun. I went out with Paul
zer0ith and ended up in Guelph to help my friend Martin's finacé Lindsey buy a Palm. We ended up with a Clié SJ30 which has a high-res colour screen and came in at just under $300CAD. I got to spend some time with the couple-to-be (*barf* and I know they'd hurl at the phrase too), had some Indian food and walked around downtown Guelph which is quite pretty. *Ahem* and I quote:
This Wednesday is the first night of "Futur*Sonic" at The Underground. Microbunny of King Cobb Steelie fame will be headlining as well as Inclination and Slo-Fi Spirit Wave whom I have no idea about. For a $5 cover with a free CD it sounds like a plan to me.
Shaved my head today! Below is the obligatory ego gratification.
"The City of Guelph is a vibrant community of over 100,000 people located in the heart of southern Ontario, just 100km west of Toronto. With one of the premier research universities, and a diverse variety of manufacturing, service, and high technology enterprises, it's also one of the fastest growing economic regions in Canada."Right now I'd sell my kingdom for a digital camera that didn't stink, but it's not in the books for a while.

I've been to Guelph. It was a nice place. I never would have imagined that 100,000 people lived there. Seemed much too small-town-y.

Date: 2003-07-08 12:16 am (UTC)Ayup. I was travelling with a band in the fall of 2000. After playing through a bunch of northern states over to Michigan, we swung up north and drove through Canada from Guelph all the way to the eastern shore.
It was a great trip. It also made me realize that the people who think of Canada as just an extension to the US are really quite ignorant. I enjoyed the entire trip, but particularly Toronto and Montreal. If I ever had job prospects there, I would go without a second thought.
