As I head towards what looks like a new chapter in my life I find myself in the state of mind that I like best. It's that world of summer fields and choral swells that once seemed hackneyed... but somehow grew back to life. It's not that all is fine with the world infact some shit is still pretty shitty. I guess it's that for the first time in a while I'm inspired and optimistic.

Abstract mushy stuff aside there's lots to do before I move over the hills and far away. Gotta get my passport updated and run various other governmental dog tracks. I'm also taking Dad's word that I can get dual citizenship without much effort when I get to Scotland. If anybody has any experience or insight into the matter it'd be greatly appreciated. Then I will book some tickets and count the days until I leave.

Tonight is my show at The Underground. Well, not my show but the show I am opening. I will wank DSP for the cool cats and then quickly exit stage left, run home and cry myself to sleep. Perhaps not with the crying and running home depending on how things go. I've seen a lot of weak shit at the UG before so I figure I won't be going down in the history books as Worst Band Ever.

The creepy thing about keeping a highly connected online life is people who find your profile on sex sites (bear411 for instance) asking you if they can come to your show. If you really wanted to come you'd just come, why bother asking? It's not a private party. Which of course leads me to think more critically of their motives. But as if disappointment from gay online hook-up websites was something new.

My weekend was weird (blackout, Rheostatics AND Radiohead canceled) but in the end totally ruled. I met Kris who totally rocks although I am disappointed that the only time I got to meet the man was spent with Grace Slick levels of drink on. Hopefully this can be corrected in the future.

Hey..Brodie...good luck with your show tonight...I am going on a limb and telling you that unless your show goes unexpectedly accoustic...which wouldn't be your fault...you will most certainly not be "The Worst Band Ever To Play There"

*HUGS*

If either of your parents or grandparents were born in the UK you are eligible for British citizenship. If your dad wasn't born there but now has citizenship, you may be eligible.

It's well worth getting because it opens up the whole EU to you, should you wish to work anywhere in the EU.

Have a look at http://www.britainincanada.org/home.htm for more details.

Thanks! That's exactly what I need. I did happen upon the site before but I'd read so much legal mumbojumbo already that it really didn't set in.

Radiohead was postponed, not cancelled.

Well, good luck to you.

Maybe I misinterpreted what you've written

You're going to Scotland to make money at a job but you're going to apply for citizenship AFTER you get there? (Not that they will probably let you in without a Visa) And you're taking your father's word on it? Are you sure that this is the smart thing to do?

Get your paperwork in order. THEN go.

Well if there's one thing Dad knows it's about immigration law. But I will be getting as much as possible together before I leave. It all depends on what documents I need to get a UK passport.

Wow Brodie - that was so elegant... that is exactly what I have been feeling of late - and you wrote it so perfectly! (Well I haven't been feeling inspired and optimistic - YET)....

You are gonna rock tonight at The Underground - Pretty soon you will be the headliner!!!! - btw can I come to your show *gives Brodie a creepy glare* - *giggles*

Sounds like an interesting weekend - I am curious about the "Grace Slick levels of drink" - what is that like 12? Hope to hear more about Kris soon!

Thanks man, I try to keep things creative. I hate reading people's daily itemized list of errands and/or frustrating customer support stories as much as the next guy.

Grace Slick levels of drunk are when you've lost count long ago.

Scotland?

My Dad offered to let me stay there for a while. He has an appartment in Inverness that is predominantly vacant as he's away at work for two weeks at a time. My cousin janice is also a floor manager at the (as in singular) McDonalds in downtown Inverness and is offering me a job there. It's a good starting point and my plan is to save a bit but mostly see Europe in my spare time and just be on my own.

btw: Since when did I have a fan club? *hugs*

Since about November of 2002. The fan club started the night I found a picture of you on *an unnamed gay dating service*. You were sitting with your legs strategically crossed. "Wow!" I muttered. "I figured he was cute, but not THIS cute!" So I sent the link to *unnamed parties who would find this interesting*. Your reputation was sealed in Woofs that night. You go, bear.

I imagine your reception will be similar in Scotland. Good luck, again!

Oh right, that picture from *unnamed gay dating service*. Enh, I can just take a flattering photo.

As for Scottish bears.. I'm not keeping my hopes up. Although the whole mythology of the country is high octane fuel for fantasy I have a feeling GLBTQ(RSTUVWXYZ) rights won't be the same in the Highlands. But who knows? I may be in for a suprise.
