Scotland FAQ
Sep. 16th, 2003 01:09 amWhen do you leave?
Saturday, September 20th at 9AM on BMI flight 4868 from Pearson Toronto to Heathrow London (YTO/YYZ->LON)Do they have the internet in Scotland? Will you be updating your journal?
Scotland is a brave and untamed country where wild beasts still terrorize the predominantly nomadic clansmen. In exchange for premium scotch whiskey I have made arrangements for a courier to send back occasional updates by horseback via the only telegraph terminal in London. Upon transmission across the Atlantic back to civilization my posts will be translated from telegram shorthand into something resembling my usual indulgent and feeble rhetoric.Kilts are hot OMG LoLz! Are U gonna buy a kilt?!?
Expensive fetishwear really isn't that important to me. Being young and without much accredited education I can't really afford to be that opulent. I do plan on buying some neat t-shirts or something...Are Scottish men really like all totally hot?
Last time I was there I was swimming in a sea of prozac long after it's therapeutic effect had worn off. This left me both generally impotent and depressed. Although I did observe that the men there were not generally more attractive than the ones in Canada. With the exception of the German bikers buzzing around the highlands on their big touring bikes with fat wives towed in sidecars. When are you coming back?
Hopefully my perception is adequatly altered this time around.
My ticket expires on the 2nd of February although I intend on returning to Canada in time to fly to Tucson for Fiesta in January. We'll see how that works out.

Date: 2003-09-16 05:42 am (UTC)Ahh..no need to use the horseback-telegram method when you have a well trained Falcon in the nearby...
I do hope you don't develop an intense liking for Robby Burns and decide to let him inspire you...I really don't know if I want to hear about your Wee Lit'l Beasties ;0)
Seriously, will try to catch up with you..if I don't, take this and run with it...its only 5 or 6 months and therefore you can really go at it, and by the time you've got bored it may be time to go back *HUGS* ;0)

Date: 2003-09-16 06:04 am (UTC)I flew them between London and Frankfurt back in 1996, and they were awesome. It'll be interesting to hear what they're like these days.

Date: 2003-09-16 07:49 am (UTC)They tend to not have that "rugby thug" look that was going around most of the bears I met. I think that's a good thing, personally.
Much like states bordering Michigan, dental hygeine doesn't seem to be anywhere near as important as it should.
That said, I enjoyed my time with the Scotsmen that I met, and a certain German fellow. :-)

Date: 2003-09-16 11:02 am (UTC)remember.. there is a fine line between participation and observation. put the camera away and live --- unless its a fucking fantastic moment.
