I'm sorry but this having 10 hours to eat, sleep and get ready to go back to work shit is not going to fly. On the books it looks like they give me the legal minimum but that's not what I practically get.

In the US (which is kind of the virtual UK), a stoodge from the current administration was talking to a congressional subcommittee, claiming that the "good" of offloading jobs to China was that General Motors would be able to make a lot of profits which it would then "reinvest," though he did not specify that it would reinvest the money in the US since we all know that the money would go back into the China ops. I shit you not. He said that.

The senator who was entertaining the fool replied, "You know, I don't think there is a single perosn in the Chinese government saying that the best thing for China is to have an 800 million dollar trade deficit with the United States. They know that working people need jobs."

Thatcherism, Reaganism, Supply-Side Voodoo.

They never re -invest that money. If they did, they would never have to go overseas would they?

I enjoy the shoddy workmanship of software development outsourced to India. Nothing makes me feel better about globalization than even more products being made in inhumane conditions by people with inferior sets of skills.

I'm reading Fast Food Nation and tend to politicize my fashion into the realm of unbranded and high quality. Does that count?

I'm thinking that after a month or so I'll go down to part time. Full time pays nicely but the stress on my mind and body are seriously not worth it.
