Goodbye 24hr Lollygaggin'
Oct. 29th, 2003 02:00 amWell, today is the first day of My Weekend. For the sake of efficiency I will refer to Tuesday & Wednesday as My Weekend until further notice.
It really sucks being so tired to the point of exhaustion all week. I could go on and vent about the bad people I work with as there is no lack of incompetence. However I find that focusing on the negative is just no fun.
I guess my life in changing in the fact that I find my work/play balance changing a lot. I mean I've lived a bit of the life of riley in the past. And frankly it sucks compared to an honest day of work. I just wish that my honest day of work didn't include that of one or two others. But again, not gonna focus on the negative. One has to suffer a bit to truly enjoy the greatness of life. The dynamic of pain and pleasure is really a weird perceptual issue. I don't even pretend to really understand it.
Anyhow it's nice to have money and I really do treasure my time off an awful lot. Tomorrow I try to get a bank account (finally), buy some groceries, hair cut and beard trim, engage in a little retail therapy and generally get things in order before I go and do it all over again.
Despite the trials and tribulations of truly living on my own in a foreign country... I am really enjoying my freedom.

Date: 2003-10-29 04:29 pm (UTC)They work you like a slave. I had nightmares about bigmacs. I burned my fingers constantly on the bun toasters. I got asked to fill in for someone on the breakfast shift and discovered too late that there's a breakfast menu. I remember when I got off to college and got my first computer job, how fabulous it was to just sit in front of a screen all day.
Everyone should work there for a little while, just to appreciate what any other career could offer.
Oh, and I made $900 after taxes in only three months! Whee!
