Being Canadian is kinda like being bisexual. Although you like both of them you're neither American nor particularly Brittish. And neither one of them really understand you particularly well.

You're too kind!

I do humour the idea of writing more and more these days.

And that is what makes us so mysterious to the rest of the world. :) For years we tried to figure out - our we American or are we British. What we agreed on is, we are Canadian. And that's it. :)

Yes, you people are similar to the state of Maine. In that I don't hear much news coming from both areas, so that makes me curious as to what you people and the people of Maine are doing. I need to visit both areas of the world and investigate this mysteriousness a little closer.

I'm in Maine. Don't come here... it is SO not worth the time. it's nothing like Canada... except it's boring and empty. It's like the Canadian North except closer to Boston.

Hi Brody,
My name is Niall, I was in touch with you a while ago. I live in Glasgow and make music, if you recall. I was making extreme electro punk, but that is on hold now. My mind swings in many directioons musically, and I like to apply myself to different genres. I have just finished a short albums-worth of more accessible stuff with vocals on, a bit Stereolab, a bit Trans Am maybe? I would liek to send you some stuff to check out
I have been reading your blog and I like it alot. I hope your not freaked out by strangers reading it, but I suppose you must have thought of that by now. I understand your dilemma of words vs music, well that is what I gather from your pages anyway. I always think that anything worth achieving will cost something, whether that be physical toil or mental anguish. Or money. Whatever. I'm rambling now.
If you want to get in touch you can email me: theNiallist@hotmail.com.
Hope to hear form you!

Not a problem at all. Do you run an instant messagers? I'd love to chat sometime. E-mail works just as well however. Check my userinfo for livejournal, should reveal all my details.

I always like Kids in the Hall's description of Canadians. "We're like Americans but without the guns."

i thought Canada actually had more guns than the US...they're just smart enough not to give them to kids who have murder/suicide on the brain so often

In our country we have this quixotic belief that semi-automatic assult weapons are needed for things as mundane and hunting and protecting one's homestead from the over-extending arms of government. We don't just limit arms to kids with suicidal tendencies you know. It's conceivable that Canada may have more guns since I imagine hunting may be big up there, but with all the violence prevalent in American society I would press you to show me the statistics before I accept your argument. I'm not saying that you are wrong, just "show me the money" so to speak.

Sorry for the confusion. I think my definition of argument and yours might be slightly different. I've never heard what you said about the quantity of guns in Canada vs. the U.S. but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

no worries...according to this page (http://www.guncontrol.ca/Content/Cda-US.htm), you were right all along, anyways.

American/British?

You're totally missing our French history and heritage.

I personally dislike being compared to the British or Americans. I'm Canadian, which is neither of the two.
