Date: 2004-06-07 01:36 pm (UTC)Welcome Interstate Managers, the album from which "Stacy's Mom" was taken, is FoW's worst effort to date. their self-titled debut was a great disc of power-pop, and their second album, Utopia Parkway, saw them branching out, but still with solid songcrafting.
WIM shows the band trying to branch out too far - they are, at heart, a fun band, and i find this album to "serious." they've not spent enough time with the new sounds to carry them off solidly, and it shows.
ok, rant over.
