Sometimes there is a design you see and you think "Oh, origami lighting. I could of thought of that. So simple. So elegant. So obvious." File this under that heading.

I've been trying to increase my practice time with the viola. So far I'm really bad. I used to be able to practice a few hours on my own and get a lot accomplished. Now I have to do 15 minute sets, reset, return. It's super inefficient but my endurance is just not there anymore. Maybe today is a bad day? I did sleep hardly at all.

For now I will dream of banana tetrapacks and hairy lovers while I essay. Can you verb "essay"? I suppose the transitive verb is "essaying". Enough rhetoric already!

It would be even cooler if they started out green and turned yellow in the sun! Hehe.

Reminds me of the colour changing kettle. It tells you both how hot and how full the kettle is. I've not seen one for sale at even the trendiest of design boutiques however.

Essay as a verb means try or attempt, as in Let us essay to storm the barricades. I've heard one etymology of the noun essay (in the sense of a written composition) as an attempt to prove a thesis.

Now that is clever packaging at it's finest.

Curses! Thanks to this post I have the "Bananaphone" song running in my head. Again. Grrrrr....

Kiwi.

By the way, the white one is tofu juice. That's the one to fear, I think.

Ah, well kiwi doesn't sound bad. You just never know what flavor they might decide is good to box. Some of the things they come up with boggle the mind, like squid ink pizza, which is popular there.

Yeah tofu is the one to fear, but with the whole soy craze, it might become popular here. At least to a small extent.

the japanese have the cleverest packaging I have seen anywere in the world. I used to buy all sorts of unidentified items and bring them back with me because they were cute. I brought back sake drink boxes once, along with heeps of everything Hello Kitty, from pasta to toilet paper. Whoever created Hello Kitty is one rich SOB by now.

I just found out today that speedos are sometimes called banana hammocks.
