So perhaps my present user icon is causing some confusion as to what it really depicts. You see Ian ([livejournal.com profile] etherlad), Jenn ([livejournal.com profile] sassy_fae) and I ([livejournal.com profile] nfotxn!) spent some time as the infamous Dundas Driving Park. In search of childhood classics such as the Rotating Tooth Smasher and Auto-Erotic Bucking Horse we found they'd been replaced. Replaced by granola mom ultra-parent safe-T apparatus. At first we were skeptical of the trippy new playthings that the somewhat well-to-do parents of this posh suburb. Low floors and metal everything.

But soon the inner children were engaged with some of the less physical and more cerebral additions. Such as a braile alphabet and analog clock. Best of all, however, was this pixel board which we all indulged our narcissistic geek tendencies by spelling our Livejournal usernames in cylindrical pixels which were half black and white. Only five cylinders high and fifteen across initially it seemed a challenge to write out names in pixels. However the round nature of the cylinders of course allows for half-pixel effects. Much like Microsoft's Cleartype technology.

However my font is far superior to Comic Sans.

A) That board is damned cool -- I was WONDERING what that was.

B) However my font is far superior to Comic Sans.

What ISN'T?! Comic Sans seems to be THE most overused and most frequently MISUSED font, ever.

Darling, you have taken the subtext of the joke and smeared it all over the pavement like my dearly beloved kitten Penolope's intestines under the wheels of that brutish hummer last summer.

Subtly darling, subtly. Shhhh. Shhhh. Let it whipser the magic. Shhhh.

It is one of those talky thingies where you can stand at either end and sound like you're standing next to eachother only more echoy. Kids love it.

Your finger is up your nose.

What's the cost of the ticket? If it's more than like $20 I'm probably going to skip it.

It looks neat in the sepia tone. Needs more dust and scratches though!

I love your new look. It's not better than your old look, simply new which means fresh which means potential which means excitement. I love excitement. I love you.

I have a new look? It's like the non-bear bear look. That is I shaved the too scruffy beard and let my hair grow out a bit.

Thanks babe, love ya too.

let me guess, the tanbark was replaced with neoprene "ground". recess at my elementary school playground often led to splinters in the eyes. i noticed on my recent inebriated adventure into the neighborhood parc-nouveau that they had completely fixed this problem. there wasn't a computer-age scripting device, though... it seems that once again, canada is one-up on my impoverished country, this time in terms of cutting-edge park technology.

Actually I think this one was still using gravel! I can't remember specifically however. We always had knee shredding gravel when I was a kid. I would get everywhere too from the inside of your British Knights Hightops to your underpants.

No need to be all up-with-Canada though. The pixel board might very well be the invention of another country. If that really even matters.

down with gravel.

it was kind of a joke when i said "computer-age scripting device", i meant it to sound retro, as in "here comes the future", "soon robots will do everything"; aspirations of the circa 1986 Apple IIe/Intel286 self-proclaimed "computer-age"; when old people believed we'd soon be living on the moon, etc. your pixeled "nfotxn" made me think of printshop birthday invitations and old school computer paper with the perferated spooling holes on both edges.

it wasn't supposed to be "up-with-canada" foot worship (although canada sounds pretty sweet), it was my own failing breed of unapparent sarcasm...

the pixel board is pretty cool.

No gravel. But no spongy rubber either. It was indeed softish wood fragments.
