Oh baby, what a doozey of a weekend. It's Wednesday right? I will attempt to recall the weekend past as best I can. Merely for the sake of posterity. However chronology may be challenging.Friday was minorly uneventful starting with dinner with old gays and new gays
Satuday goes up in bong hits, sitars and lots of gay, gay and gay. I decided to go to The Beef Ball/Le Bal de Bouef to do my first circuity sorta thing. It was pretty fun actually and I was totally wrong to harsh on the party so many years previous. The crowd was friendly, fun and I even brushed shoulders with some a-list muscle bear freaks! Good time had by all however the DJ needs to give up that anthemic tribal bullshit. I can't believe I am writing a rave cliché but: the DJ totally killed my energy with a set I didn't agree with. All my gays went home with other gays except me because I am a virgin and saving myself for marriage. I still had fun and will probably do it again next year.
Sunday... parade! I wore flowers on my head! I punk rocked the parade with D'arcy! I marched with the NDP and Gay Geeks! I slathered
Monday I woke up with a rather bad hangover, came home, voted and met my new kitten Lucy (whom I refer to as Lucifer). My Mom and brother had picked her up while I was away from the SPCA. She is 3 months old, tiny and has a "upper respiratory infection" which is akin to a kitty cold. Professional word is that she'll be ok in a few weeks. Until then I have to deal with a tiny sneezy kitten.
This was actually the first federal election I got to vote in. From which I was filled with a great deal of civic pride. I'm so glad that our election resulted as it did with 4 parties and one independent candidate being elected into office. To be able to contrast our federal situation to the dismal chocolate/vanilla system south of the border gives me a great sense of... smug Canadianess. It will be interesting to see how a minority government will function in the country and how long it will last. I have high soaring idelaistic hopes however it may prove to be an absolutely dismal situation. Only time will tell. Still, getting my pride on and participating politically made me feel fantastic. What I saw last weekend felt like what I feel should be the prototype for the future. The world functioning as a complex dis-aggregate socially, politically and economically. Rather than an us-and-them, with-or-against oppositional view of the world.
Feel free to browse the uncensored and unedited camera dump of the weekend here all Apache .htaccess styles. Warning: there is a picture of a muscular black man's bum.

P.S. : I misread, "Until then I have to deal with a tiny sneezy kitten," as, "Until then I have to deal with a tiny squeezy kitten." I was gonna SAY ...
