The Slow Party: An Internet Audio Broadcast For The Calm Cool and Collected
I will be doing a semi-regular shoutcast internet broadcast most Sunday evenings. I am considering some form of commentary as well.

However I feel I am resting on my laurels lately. That I need to learn something new, branch out and create. I can honestly say that in my adult creative lifetime I've been on a fairly consistent vector of improvement. It's slow and tedious but soon I will be so ready.

" adult creative lifetime"

it "is" a slow thing when you compare to the crazy insane growth and exploration had in school.

Unless of course you're independently wealthy - you will never have that kind of freedom to just relentlessly learn and create again.

It's really o.k. though - what you'll wind up doing is weaving personal aesthetic development in between pragmatic concerns.... oh... like... "did I mow the lawn today?" and "Can I make this month's house payment?"

That poster/image is wonderful - your doing?

I agree wholeheartedly. But what's nicest about being a pragmatist is not having the frustration and heartache even of having to force yourself to think outside the box all the time. Constraints are really sexy after not having had any at all.

The image is mine of my umbrella in my backyard and some type for my broadcast this evening.

Cool. I would tune in. I finally got around to listening to that Mouse on Mars you recommended. Great stuff! I like "Send Me Shivers" and the last track a lot.

Creativity is weird. When I was in my early 20s, I would write five songs a week, now I'm happy if I write one decent hook each year.
