Little Thrillls
Dec. 1st, 2004 12:12 amThe Junior Boys are regular customers at my place of work. I dunno if it'd be all stalker-esque to approach one of them. Probably.
Although I missed band practice tonight because I was working. Justin, my guitar player, came through my checkout and told me about his new axe. Which made me think that maybe now that I am in a real band I should consider getting a serious bass? The old Milli Vanilli era cherry red active Cort bass I have on loan from Martin is fun enough to diddle at home. But I know it's a piece of shit. The treble hums and the active electronics are pretty much useless on the upper end. I just made up for it on the amp when modelling a tone, so no loss.
I guess after xmas or something I will go and see what's good and in my price range.
Practice again on Thursday which I will mosdefinitely be making. It's the most exciting thing in my life right now to be able to play music with people. I've been living in an artistic vacuum for so long.
I'm also thinking of what musical projects I can spearhead myself. Most likely I would be looking at a recording studio sort of thing because I don't know many musicians anymore. I want to learn to play the accordian and the piano better. I want to get my viola playing polished again. How lame is it that at work I have apparent strangers ask me if I'm still playing? At least one a week. This is of course more a testament to the size of Hamilton and also the breadth of the strings program.
Basically I want about $10 000 worth of musical instruments. That being a little more than I make in a year puts the possibility out of the question. So I will make due with my friends \m/etalcore punkband and my pretentious adventures into whateverhood.

Date: 2004-12-01 07:32 pm (UTC)For your personal projects try some studio programs. Look also for Propellerhead's 'Reason studio', it totally rocks. Good luck making music.
