| Winter Ink sale on now: See our site!! |
There are so many things about inkjet printers that I hate and wish would go away. The whole disposable nature and controlled substance marketing of ink and supplies makes me mad. And worst of all people take it 'cause OMG that $300 printer is only $100†! It's a big rip off and I want to pay for something that works. Rather than haemorrhage $90 out my asshole every time I'm suddenly out of red ink and in a fix.
So in my great wisdom I bought some bottles of ink and a cartridge resetter. No problem, right? Well not really, the resetter works flawlessly but all that syringe shit with inks... now I know for sure I'd make a crappy IV drug user.
Cooked and ate like a hippie tonight. Listened to Devendra Banhart while cooking some Quinoa ("KEEN-wah") Stuffed Acorn Squash.
Quinoa-Stuffed Acr0n Squashx0r
You can use brown rice instead of quinoa (cooking time may vary)
- ½ cup quinoa
- 1½ cups water
- 2 small acorn squash, halved, seeds removed
- 2 tsp. olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, shredded
- ½ cup orange juice
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup dried cranberries
Rinse the quinoa until the water runs clear. combine the quinoa and water in a medium pot and bring to a boil. Cook 15 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed. Place the acorn squash cut-side down on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave for 8 minutes or until tender.
Heat the oil in a skillet. Add the garlic, onion, and carrots and cook until soft, Stir in the orange juice, raisins, cranberries, and cooked quinoa. Cook 5 minutes or until the juice is absorbed. Spoon the quinoa mixture evenly into the squash. Makes 4 servings.
It was alright, I'm not wild about orange flavours all up in my main course. Although dried cherries and raisins are AOK.
