Routines In Snow
The parking lot outside my house

Perhaps it's the coming of spring, or maybe not, but I can feel the doldrums of the winter beginning their slow lift away. Looking at photos of the summer I realize how boring I get when it's cold and dark out. The quick collapse into routine and bitter wait for warmer days reflected in the snow. The same cars in the same places, day in and day out. Going to the same destinations.

I still want to go camping and get stupid in front of an open fire. Roast marshmallows and go star gazing. For the time being I'm stuck slaving here in the conifer ghetto with the same old laugh track at work. Things aren't bad and could be worse, knock on stock Swedish blonde beech veneer.

Starting to flesh out some new mixes to share. This next round I want to distribute with Bittorrent which requires running a private tracker. Also an RSS feed to aggregate all the content together. The new media mavens are cashing in on the iPod fad and branding the idea as "Podcasting". But really the technology on the back-end is a lot more flexible and able to handle much more than audio. Dunno where I'm going with the idea. Got a few idea though. Must read more.

blah. I totally agree that you just settle into a routine. I need some sort of warmth or green. I love winter at first, but around this time of the year I wish it to be gone!

Yeah, I read you're playing WoW. That can really monopolize lives. I haven't seen my friend Jeff too many times since Everquest came out :)

Yeah, I think I want the tracker to run on one of my own boxes. Dunno yet though. Thanks for the link!

I think that Bears have the right idea with regard to spending the sunless months in hibernation. This time of year makes me want to jump out of my skin for a warm day.
